How DKIM works

DKIM signs your outgoing mail with a private key. Receivers fetch the matching public key from your DNS TXT record (at selector._domainkey.yourdomain) and verify the signature. Most providers let you set a custom selector and paste the private key; some generate the key for you, in which case you only need the DNS record.
